Machine washing your completed garment is an important last step for your project; your yarn will blossom filling in stitches and the overall hand will soften noticeably.

  • Place your garment in a delicates mesh laundry bag
  • Use PH balanced (low alkaline) detergent (Woolite or baby shampoo are OK)
  • Soak your completed project in cool water < 68 F (20 C) for 15 minutes
  • Set machine to gentle cycle
  • Dry flat in the shade

Notes:

  • As with any animal protein fiber in some cases minor shrinking may occur with the first wash.
  • Very important to use PH balanced non-alkaline detergent like Woolite or even baby shampoo; using an alkaline detergent could harm the fibers.
  • Optional; testers have experimented tumble drying their garments, no heat setting, in the dryer to maximize blossoming. This step is optional, please exercise great care.
